Ingredients:
• 1 bowl – Rice flour
• 2 bowls – fresh, grated Coconut
• 1/2 bowl – Jaggery
• 2 pinches – Cardamom powder
• 1 bowl – water
• 1 tsp – Ghee
• 1 pinch – salt
Method:
- For stuffing (saran):
- Mix grated coconut and jaggery and cook on slow flame till it becomes dry.
- Add cardamom powder and keep aside.
- For covering (ukad):
- Boil water in a non-stick pan, add ghee, salt and rice flour.
- Mix well. Cover the pan with a lid for 5 mins.
- Move the dough to a plate and knead.
- Take some dough, shape it like a bowl.
- Stuff coconut mixture in it. Cover it and shape it into modaks.
- Steam all modaks for 10 mins the way you steam idlis.
- Serve hot with desi ghee.
