
Ingredients:
• 500 g – Fresh, tender Bottle Gourd (lauki)
• 100 g – Almonds, crushed coarsely
• 600 ml – Milk
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom, powdered
• 10 to 12 strands – Saffron
• 1 tsp – Ghee.
Method:
- Wash and grate the bottle gourd. Then squeeze out the excess water.
- Add this to a microwave bowl along with 50 ml milk.
- Microwave on high for 6 minutes.
- Add almonds and 100 ml milk, now microwave it for 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, boil the cooked gourd mixture in a heavy sauce pan.
- Cook over a medium-low flame, until the milk is fully absorbed.
- Now add sugar and cook until it melts, stirring gently.
- Cook until dry.
- Add cardamom, saffron, ghee and mix well to blend in the flavours.
- Serve warm or cold.
- Microwave for 7-8 seconds before serving.
