
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – Toor Dal
• 1/2 – onion, cut
• 1 – tomato, cut
• 1 tsp – rasam powder
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• 1/4 cup – Lemon juice
• salt to taste
• Little Turmeric powder
• 4 tsp – Coconut powder
• Coriander leaves
• For seasoning:
• 1 tsp – oil
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1/2 tsp – mustard and Cumin seeds
Method:
- Pressure cook tuvar dal with a little water and turmeric powder. Take a vessel, add oil.
- When it heats up, add urad dal.
- When the dal turns golden brown, add cumin and mustard seeds.
- When they pop up, add onion, tomato, rasam powder, chilli powder, sugar, lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder, coconut powder and the cooked tuvar dal.
- Finally add 4 cups of water. Mix them well.
- Bring it to boil, then add coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice.
