
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Maida
• a pinch – salt
• 1/2 tsp – baking powder
• 4 tbsp – cocoa
• 5 tbsp – hot water
• 75 ml – Milk
• 3/4 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1/2 cup – Butter
• 2 eggs
Method:
- Mix Maida with salt and baking powder.
- Mix cocoa with hot water. Add milk and 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Mix well and cook slowly till the mixture is like custard. (Avoid over cooking) Add the essence. Allow to cool.
- Beat butter with remaining sugar.
- Add the egg yolks one by one, beating well after each addition.
- Fold in the Maida alternately with the cooled sauce.
- Gently fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in a moderate oven (180 degrees centigrade ) till done. (About 30 minutes).
