Ingredients:

• 500 g – Prawns (shelled and de-veined)
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 2 cups – Coconut Milk
• 200 g – chopped Onions
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 2 Green chillies
• salt to taste
• For masala:
• 4 to 5 – whole Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – coriander
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 6 – Black Peppercorns
• 1.5 tsp – Turmeric
• 1 inch Ginger
• 6 – Cloves
• 1.5 cups – Coconut
• 1.5 cups – Vinegar

Method:

  1. Dust the prawns with turmeric and salt.
  2. Keep aside.
  3. Fry onions until light brown.
  4. Add ground masala and fry.
  5. Add prawns and fry until pink.
  6. Add coconut milk and bring to a boil.
  7. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with green chillies.
  9. For Prawn Masala:
  10. Grind together all ingredients with vinegar.
