Ingredients:

• 5 – onion, chopped
• 1/2 cup – Tamarind juice
• 1 tsp – sambar powder
• Oil for frying
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp – mustard
• Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• Coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a kadai. Saute mustard, curry leaves, cumin until they splutter. Add onions and fry until golden brown.
  2. Add the tamarind juice, sambar powder and salt (as per taste) with water and stir well.
  3. Cook 10-15 minutes until the onion cooks.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  5. Have it with for rice, chapatti or roti.
