
Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Rice
• 250 g – Green peas
• 3 medium sized Onions
• 4 cups – water to cook Rice
• 1 to 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 small piece – Cinnamon
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 to 3 Bay Leaves
• 4 Cardamoms
• 2 to 3 Cloves
• salt to taste
• 3 tbsp – oil
Method:
- Pick, wash and soak the rice for twenty minutes.
- Finely slice the onions lengthwise. Heat oil.
- Add cumin seeds, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves.
- Fry for a second and add the sliced onions.
- Fry the onions on a low flame till they are golden brown in colour.
- Add red chilli powder and fry for a couple of seconds.
- Add the green peas and saut1.5 for a minute.
- Add rice, water, and salt to taste. Mix well. Give it a boil.
- After the first boil, simmer the gas and cook stirring the rice once or twice while being cooked.
- Cook till the rice is done.
- Serve with any raita.
