
Ingredients:
• 1 kg – Beetroot
• 1.5 litre – Milk
• 500 gm – Sugar
• Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
• Saffron – a few flakes
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
Method:
- Peel and grate beetroot.
- Boil milk and beetroot in a heavy saucepan till thick, stirring occasionally.
- Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.
- Add sugar and cook further till it thickens.
- Add ghee, cardamom, saffron and colour.
- Stir on low heat till the mixture collects in a soft ball or the ghee starts to separate.
- Serve hot, decorated with a chopped almond or pista.
