Ingredients:

• Plain Rice – 1 cup
• Jaggery – 1 cup
• Kidney beans – 1/2 cup
• Coconut – 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Soak the kidney beans for 1 hour.
  2. Wash the rice in water and dry it in a muslin cloth for half an hour. The powder it fine and sieve out the coarse grains
  3. In a kadai, fry the soaked kidney beans and cook well.
  4. Now add the powdered jaggery.
  5. When the water starts to boil, add the powdered rice and mix well.
  6. Keep mixing till all the water is absorbed. Then add the coconut pieces and remove from fire.
  7. After 10 mins, mix again and make small balls.
  8. Flatten them slightly and make a hole in the centre.
  9. Steam the cakes for 10 mins in a pressure cooker.
  10. Serve with fresh butter.
