Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Wheat flour
• 1/2 cup – Jaggery
• 1.25 cups – water
• 2 tbsp – split moong dal
• 1 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1/4 cup – grated Coconut
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• 1 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Dry-roast the wheat flour in a pan for a few minutes and keep aside.
  2. Dry-roast the split moong dal in a pan until golden brown.
  3. Heat the water, oil and salt together. Once the water starts boiling, add the jaggery pieces and make a syrup.
  4. Strain the syrup and heat again until it starts to thicken.
  5. Immediately add the roasted wheat flour, roasted moong dal, grated coconut, cardamom powder and stir everything until the wheat flour get off the pan.
  6. Let the dough mixture cool.
  7. Make a small ball from the dough and press in your fingers.
  8. Pressure-cook for 10 minutes in an idli cooker.
  9. Serve hot.
