Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Rice flour (fine variety)
• 2 tbsp – Urad Dal flour
• 3/4 tbsp – coconut, grated
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1/2 tbsp – sesame seeds
• Salt, as required
Method:
- Dry roast both the flours and sieve them well together.
- Dry roast the coconut briefly to remove the moisture.
- Then add it to the flours, along with butter, sesame seeds and salt. Mix well.
- Add water little by little to form a soft dough.
- Then roll into small balls – just a little bigger than peas – and arrange on a clean cloth.
- Let it sit for 1/2 an hour for the moisture to leave.
- Prick a single hole in each ball with a pin.
- Heat oil and gently drop the balls in batches.
- Keep the flame at a medium and fry till golden brown; drain on a kitchen towel or tissue paper.
- Allow it to cool and store in an airtight container.
