Ingredients:

• 1 lb – small Potato
• 1/2 – green or Red Chilli
• 1/2 cup – yogurt or 1/4 cup – yogurt and 1/2 Tomato
• 1/4 cup – water
• Salt to taste
• Oil to fry masala
• For spices:
• 1/4 cup – ground Onion paste
• 1/4 tsp each – haldi, chilli and dhaniya-jeera powder
• 3 tbsp – finely chopped green coriander
• 1 tsp – ground ginger-garlic paste

Method:

  1. Boil potatoes and peel.
  2. Heat the oil. Fry the onion paste till brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for another minute.
  4. Then, add yogurt or yogurt with tomato, salt to taste, haldi, mirchi and dhaniya-zeera powder.
  5. Fry till the oil separates from the masala.
  6. Add aloo and fry aloo in this masala in medium heat with a lid on for some more time (till you feel that aloo has all the masala coating).
  7. Add water if you want some gravy.
