Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup – tuvar dal, cooked in 2 cups – water
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 4 cocum
• 3/4 tsp – Fenugreek seeds, pounded coarsely
• 1/3 cup Jaggery
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1/2 cup – kopra, lightly browned
• 1 tsp – cumin seeds, ground
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 cups – coriander leaves, chopped
• 3 tbsp – oil
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Heat oil. Add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida.
  2. Add dal with water, all powder spices, jaggery and salt. Boil till blended, adding water if needed.
  3. Add cocum, coconut, and cumin paste. Simmer and garnish with coriander leaves.
  4. Serve with rice.
