Ingredients:

• 1.5 cup – bobmay Rawa
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• oil for frying
• For filling:
• 1.5 cup – fresh grated Coconut
• 3 tbsp – sesame seeds
• 3 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1 cup – Sugar

Method:

  1. Add water and salt to rawa to make a puri-like dough.
  2. Cover and keep aside for 30-40 minutes.
  3. For filling:
  4. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  5. Add sesame seeds, grated coconut and roast for 5 minutes on a medium flame.
  6. Add sugar, keep stirring and bring to a boil.
  7. When the mixture becomes thick, add cardamom powder and turn off the heat.
  8. Make as many small balls as possible out of the dough.
  9. Sprinkle some maida on a board and roll out into thin rounds for the covering.
  10. Place a spoonful of filling and gather all the sides at the top and press it firmly to resemble a fresh fig.
  11. Make sure all the sides are sealed tightly.
  12. Prepare all the modaks and fry on a medium flame till brown.
