Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Chana dal
• 1/2 cup – moong dal
• 1/2 cup – masoor dal
• 1/4 cup – Urad Dal
• 1/4 cup – tur dal
• 2 tbsp – coriander powder
• 2 tbsp – chilli powder
• half inch – Ginger
• 5 to 6 – Cloves of Garlic
• 1/2 cup – fresh spinach, chopped
• salt to taste
Method:
- Mix and wash all the dals together. Add water (keep the dal: water ratio at 1:5)
- Add a little salt and turmeric and let it cook. It usually takes about 30-35 mins.
- Add dhania powder and chilli powder and churn it very well.
- Add the chopped ginger and garlic, along with the spinach, and cook the dal for some time.
- Heat some ghee in a small kadai and add jeera and hing.
- Then add the tadka to the dal.
- Sprinkle freshly cut coriander leaves. Serve hot with rotis or rice.
