Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Channa dal
• 2 cups – water
• 1 – Green chilli
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp – grated Coconut
• For seasoning:
• 1 tsp – oil
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A few Curry leaves
• A pinch of asafetida

Method:

  1. Heat a pan and add the dal and water.
  2. Add salt and green chilli cook till the dal becomes soft but not sticky. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  4. When mustard splutters, add curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida.
  5. Add the cooked channa dal and mix thoroughly with the coconut.
  6. Serve hot with rotis or rice.
