Ingredients:

• 2 kg – frozen pastry shells
• 2 Cloves – garlic, chopped
• 2 – medium sized Onions
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 2 tsp – fresh Lime juice
• 1 kg – minced Meat
• 1tbsp – shortening
• 1 – Clove
• 1 – Cinnamon
• 1 – Nutmeg
• 1 tsp – Black Peppercorns
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1 tsp – ginger, grated
• 3/4 tsp – ground red pepper

Method:

  1. Melt shortening and saute onions and garlic.
  2. When onions turn brown, add ginger and other spices.
  3. Fry for 3 mins.
  4. Add the ground meat.
  5. Add a few drops of water and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Uncover and cook until the meat is cooked.
  7. Add the lime juice.
  8. While the mince cooks, bake pastry shells according to directions.
  9. Cut the tops off of the shells.
  10. Stuff the pastry with the meat and replace the top.
  11. Bake the stuffed shells for 5 mins.
  12. Serve warm.
