Ingredients:

• 100 gm – Rice
• 2 litres – Milk
• 100 gm – Kalkandh (Kalsakray)
• 250 gm – Sugar
• 100 gm – Ghee
• Cashewnut, Rasins
• Saffron, Cardamom (powder)

Method:

  1. Soak rice for 15 minutes in water.
  2. Boil it with all of the milk.
  3. Keep stirring till it cooks (this is very important. Ensure that the rice cooks fully).
  4. Add a little saffron.
  5. Add kalkand and sugar
  6. Add a little ghee, after sugar and kalkhand has dissolved.
  7. After it thickens remove from stove and add cashew and rasins (fried in ghee)
  8. Add cardamom.
  9. The delicious Kshrirannam is ready.
