Ingredients:

• 1 cup – basmati Rice (washed and drained).
• 1 cup – peas.
• 1 cup – coriander leaves, finely chopped.
• 1 cup – Mint leaves.
• 4 – Garlic cloves.
• 1 – big onion, chopped.
• 2 tsp – rasam powder.
• 1 cup – milk.
• 1 cup – water.
• 1 tsp – jeera.
• Salt to taste.
• Some grated Coconut (optional).
• Lemon juice.

Method:

  1. Heat some oil in a pressure pan, then add the jeera into it. When it splutters, add the coriander, mint and onions. Saute until onions are half cooked.
  2. Now add the washed rice and peas, and heat for 2 mins.
  3. Add the water, milk and the rasam powder. Cook under pressure for 3 whistles.
  4. Before serving the pulao, add the lemon juice and coconut on top. Serve with some raitha.
