Ingredients:

• 150 – 200 g – Okra
• 2 cups – Curd
• To grind:
• 3 tsp – desiccated Coconut
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 pods – Garlic
• 1- big green chilly
• For seasoning:
• 1 tsp – vegetable oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 – red chilly
• a few sprigs- Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Chop okra into small round pieces. Heat 2 tsp of oil and when hot, add the okra pieces. Saute and fry for 5 mins until cooked.
  2. Drain on to a paper towel in a plate and set aside.
  3. Grind in a blender the mustard seeds, coconut, chilly and garlic into a fine paste.
  4. Add the fried okra, ground mixture, 2 cups of curd, salt to a bowl and mix well.
  5. Add the oil, mustard seeds, red chilly and curry leaves for seasoning.
  6. When this pops, add it onto the curd mixture.
  7. Mix well, garnish with curry leaves and serve.
  8. This can be served with rice/jeera rice/pulao etc.
  9. Ideal for meat/chicken/fish dishes.
