
Ingredients:
• 1 – chicken, skinned and cut into medium pieces
• 1.5 cups – onion, chopped
• 4 to 5 – green chillies, slit
• 5 to 6 – whole pepper
• 2 – Clove
• 1.5 inch piece – Cinnamon
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 2 tsp – Ginger Garlic paste
• 1/2 cup – plain Yoghurt
• 3 to 4 tsp – kasoori Methi or dried Methi
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 2 tbsp – chopped cilantro/coriander leaves
• 3 to 4 tbsp – oil
• salt to taste
Method:
- Wash and cut the chicken. Marinate it with turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt for 15-20 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add whole pepper, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, slit chillies and onions.
- Saute till onions are transparent.
- Add chicken and fry for some more time.
- Add 1/4 cup water, cover and cook for 5-7 mins.
- Uncover and add yoghurts and garam masala powder.
- Stir well till the oil separates from yogurt.
- Continue to cover and cook till the chicken is properly cooked.
- Add kasoori methi and chopped cilantro, stir and turn off the stove.
- Adjust the spice according to your own taste.
- If the yoghurt is not sour you can add some lemon juice for the tangy taste.
- Serve with naan or plain paratha.
