Ingredients:
• 10 – dry red chillies.
• 1.5 – coconut.
• 4 tbsp – cooking oil.
• 2 tbsp – coriander.
• 4 flakes – garlic.
• 1 tsp – cumin seeds.
• 1/2 – onion.
• 4 – peppercorns.
• 1 – pomfret.
• 2 tsp – salt.
• 1 ball – tamarind.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
Method:
- Clean, cut and wash the fish.
- Grind half of the coconut and extract the thick juice.
- Grind the remaining coconut in this thin juice with the other ingredients for grinding.
- In a handi, heat oil, fry sliced onions until brown, add the ground masala and fry.
- Stir continuously.
- Wash the left over masala in the grinder with four cups of water. Add fried masala and salt to it and boil.
- Add the fish pieces and cook for about 15 mins, or till the fish is cooked.
- Add the thick juice, taste and add salt if required.
- Simmer for 10 more mins.
