
Ingredients:
• Moong dal- 100 g, fried
• Red Chillies – 5
• Salt to taste
• Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
• Tamarind – 1 small piece
• Mustard Seeds – 1 tbsp
• Curry leaves- 2 -3 sprigs
• Dhania seeds – 1/2 tbsp
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Garlic – 2 Cloves
• Onion – 1 small sized.
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and saute the mustard seeds, dhania, red chillies, asafoetida, then add salt and the curry leaves.
- Soak tamarind in 1/4 cup hot water.
- Now grind the fried mixture in a mixie. Grind until coarse.
- Now add the fried moong dal, garlic, tamarind and grind again adding a little water.
- The moong dal should also be coarsely ground.
- Now chop the onion into small pieces.
- Add to the chutney and mix thoroughly. The onion should remain a little coarse.
