Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – basmati Rice
• 1/3 cup – Sugar
• 2 – Cloves
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 4 – chopped Almonds
• a few strands of Saffron
• a pinch of Cardamom
• 1/3 cup – Coconut
• 1 tbsp – condensed Milk (optional)

Method:

  1. Soak the rice in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee, roast the almonds in it and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the rinsed rice and fry for a minute.
  4. Add 1 cup of water, cardamom, coconut, saffron, cloves and bring the mixture to boil.
  5. Simmer and cover with a lid. Cook until the rice is 90% done (approximately 10 minutes).
  6. Add sugar and condensed milk and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with the roasted nuts.
