Ingredients:

• Raw Rice – 1.5 cups
• Grated Coconut – 2 cups
• Green chillies – 5 to 6
• Jaggery – 1 piece
• Tamarind – a gooseberry-sized ball
• Salt – 2 tsp
• Jeera – 1/2 tsp
• Aniseed – 1/2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Dhania powder – 1 tsp
• Cabbage – 250g, finely chopped
• Onion – 3 medium-sized, finely chopped

Method:

  1. Soak rice for two hours and grind along with all the other ingredients, except onion and cabbage.
  2. Mix finely chopped cabbage and onion with the ground rice batter.
  3. Heat the tawa and pour a spoonful of batter and make adai.
  4. Serve with chutney.
