Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Urad dhal/split black gram dhal
• 2 – Tomatoes, chopped
• 2 tsp – Chilly powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Coriander powder
• 1 tsp – Cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 – Red Chillies broken into small bits
• 1 tsp – Chopped Garlic
• 8-10 – Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – Oil
• Salt to taste.
Method:
- Wash the dhal and pressure cook along with the tomatoes, turmeric, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and 3 cups of water for up to 4-5 whistles.
- Add salt to taste.
- Now heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard, red chillies and curry leaves. Pour this into the cooked dal and mix well.
- Serve with rice.
