Ingredients:

• 1 kg – sweet Jackfruit
• 1 kg – Jaggery
• 2 coconuts, grated
• 1/2 cup – Ghee
• For garnishing:
• 1/2 cup – roasted Cashewnuts
• 1/4 cup – Raisins

Method:

  1. Deseed jackfruit and cut into 3-inch strips. Put aside.
  2. Place jaggery in a pan.
  3. Add enough water to barely cover.
  4. Heat until the jaggery dissolves completely stirring frequently. Strain.
  5. To this, add the jackfruit strips and grated coconut, and cook over medium heat stirring continuously.
  6. Add the ghee and continue stirring until it reaches a jam-like consistency.
  7. Remove from heat. Place in a bowl.
  8. Garnish with roasted cashew nuts and raisins.
