Ingredients:
• 4 – karelas
• 3 – Onions (medium size)(chopped)
• 1 – tbsp oil
• little yoghurt(to season )
• 1 tbsp- Ginger chilli paste
• few leaves of curry patta
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp- Garam Masala
• 2 tbsp – Dhania powder
• kajus and coriander for garnishing
• salt to taste
Method:
- Slice the karelas and soak it in salt water for an hour and leave it aside.
- After an hour press the karelas between yours palms and drain all the water out.
- Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add yoghurt, ginger -chilli paste and the curry patta.
- Put the chopped onions with a little salt and mix well.
- Once the onions turn crispy brown, add the karelas and mix well.
- Do not add much salt as karela is already soaked in salt water.
- Add sugar and garam masala.
- Keep it on fire for another 5 to 10 minutes. Once karelas turn dark, add the dhania powder and mix well. Garnish with kaju and coriander.
