Ingredients:

• 4 – karelas
• 3 – Onions (medium size)(chopped)
• 1 – tbsp oil
• little yoghurt(to season )
• 1 tbsp- Ginger chilli paste
• few leaves of curry patta
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• 1 tsp- Garam Masala
• 2 tbsp – Dhania powder
• kajus and coriander for garnishing
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Slice the karelas and soak it in salt water for an hour and leave it aside.
  2. After an hour press the karelas between yours palms and drain all the water out.
  3. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add yoghurt, ginger -chilli paste and the curry patta.
  4. Put the chopped onions with a little salt and mix well.
  5. Once the onions turn crispy brown, add the karelas and mix well.
  6. Do not add much salt as karela is already soaked in salt water.
  7. Add sugar and garam masala.
  8. Keep it on fire for another 5 to 10 minutes. Once karelas turn dark, add the dhania powder and mix well. Garnish with kaju and coriander.
