Ingredients:

• 8 fillets – Pomfrets or any other white fish, sliced
• 3 – Onions
• 6 slices – Garlic
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 6 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin
• 1 bunch – Coriander
• 4 large – Tomatoes
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric
• Juice of 1 Lemon
• 1 tsp – Salt
• 1/2 cup – Sweet oil

Method:

  1. Grind red chillies, cumin and turmeric and apply to the fish.
  2. Chop onions, green chillies, garlic.
  3. Wash tomatoes and chop fine.
  4. Heat oil and fry the fish in it on both sides, remove from oil and keep aside; in the same oil, fry onions till brown; then add chopped chillies, garlic, and tomatoes and 1/2 cup water.
  5. Bring to a boil, then place fried fish in it and simmer until the fish is cooked and the gravy is thick.
  6. Add lemon juice and serve, sprinkled with coriander.
