Ingredients:
• 2-ripe Tomatoes
• 3-red chillies
• 2tsp- Channa dal
• 2tsp- Urad Dal
• 1tsp-dhaniya (seeds)
• 1tsp- Jeera
• 2strips-tamarind
• salt
• 3 spoons-oil
Method:
- Soak tamarind in 4-5 spoons of warm water, fry all the above ingredients except for tomatoes and tamarind in a pan without oil.
- Once everything is fried, add tomatoes to them and allow them to cook.
- Add salt as required and tamarind, grind these to a smooth paste.
- In a pan, add 3 spoons of oil, allow it to heat and add asafoetida to it.
- Now add the ground paste, mix it and allow it cook for 5 mins in simmer.
- Sprinkle with coriander leaves and serve with hot rice, idli or dosa.
