Ingredients:

• 1 cup – masoor dal
• 1/2 cup – carrot, peeled and diced
• 1/2 cup – cabbage, shredded
• 1/4 cup – brinjal, diced
• 1/4 cup – peas
• 1/4 cup – Capsicum
• 1 cup – onion, diced
• 1/2 cup – tomato, diced
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 3 – Green chillies
• 3 tsp – gotsu powder
• For gotsu powder:
• 1 tbsp – Channa dal
• 1 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 2 tsp – cumin
• 4 – Red Chillies

Method:

  1. For the gotsu powder:
  2. Roast channa dal, coriander seeds, cumin and red chillies in a little oil and dry grind them and store it in an airtight container
  3. For the gotsu:
  4. Crackle mustard, add urad dal, cumin and green chillies.
  5. Add the onions and fry till translucent. Add the tomatoes and capsicum and saute for 2-3 mins.
  6. Now add the masoor dal, water and boil till the dal is tender.
  7. Add the vegetables and boil further until the vegetables are tender.
  8. Add the gotsu powder and stir for a minute.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
