Ingredients:

• Plantain flower – 1 big.
• Onion – 100 gms.
• Green chillies – 6.
• Coconut (grated) – 1 small cup.
• gram dal – 100 gms.
• Ginger – A pinch.
• aji-no-moto – A pinch.
• coriander leaves.
• Mint leaves.
• asafoetida.
• salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Chop plantain flower and cook in water till it is half done. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Soak gram dal for one hour and grind coarsely.
  3. Chop onion, green chillies and ginger evenly.
  4. Mix all the above and make into a thick batter.
  5. Spoon it into batter and deep fry.
  6. Serve hot with onion chutney.
