Ingredients:

• 4-5 – Tomatoes
• 2 – medium Onions
• 5 – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – gram flour (mixed in lukewarm water without lumps)
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 3 glasses – water
• Salt to taste
• For seasoning:
• 1/4 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tbsp – Urad Dal
• 2 tbsps – Channa dal
• 1/2 tbsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 sprig – Curry leaves
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida

Method:

  1. Chop the onions, tomatoes and green chillies (not too finely though).
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add the seasonings in the following order: hing, cumin, channa dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
  3. Once they splutter, add the onions and fry them till they turn soft. Then add the tomatoes and green chillies.
  4. Once they soft, too, add the water, turmeric, chilli powder, salt, and let it cook.
  5. 5 mins before you remove from heat, add the gram flour mixed in water. Mix well and serve.
