Ingredients:

• 1 cup – raw Rice
• 1 cup – idly Rice
• 1 cup – Toor Dal
• 7 – Red Chillies (or to taste)
• Salt – to taste
• 1 medium – Onion (chopped finely)
• Curry leaf
• 1/2 cup – coriander (finely chopped)
• Oil, as required

Method:

  1. Soak rice, dal and red chillies together for 45 minutes. Grind them coarsely. The batter should be like idly batter in consistency.
  2. Now, add salt, chopped onion, curry leaf and chopped coriander. Mix well.
  3. Heat tawa and pour 2 ladles of batter and spread evenly (like dosa).
  4. Add oil along the sides.
  5. Cook both the sides till golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with avial or coconut chutney.
