Ingredients:

• Yam – 500 gm
• Rice flour – 2 tsp
• sour curds – ½ cup
• green chilies – 2
• Garlic – 4 flakes
• Ginger – 2 cm
• pepper Corns – ½ tsp
• Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
• oil to deep fry
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash and peel the yam. Cut them into fingers, about 1.5 cm thick.
  2. Boil in water till soft but not mushy. Drain well.
  3. Grind remaining ingredients except the oil to a paste.
  4. Toss yam fingers in this mixture and keep covered for 15-30 minutes.
  5. Deep fry the fingers in batches in hot oil till golden brown.
  6. Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot.
