
Ingredients:
• 2 cups Rice flour
• 1/4 cup Urad Dal
• 1/2 cup rolled oats
• 1/2 cup Split roasted gram dal/pottukadalai
• 1 tsp Butter
• 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1 cup Coconut Milk
• Salt
• Oil for Deep Frying
Method:
- Grind as fine powder the split roasted gram.
- Dry roast the rolled oats and grind as a fine powder.
- Dry roast the urad dal and grind as fine powder.
- Take the rice flour, split gram dal flour, oats flour and urad dal flour along with salt, sesame seeds and cumin seeds.
- Meanwhile heat the coconut milk and butter together on simmer.
- Don’t boil the coconut milk.
- Add this heated coconut milk to the flours and knead everything as a soft and stiff dough.
- Heat oil for Deep Frying.
- Take a ball of dough in a muruku press.
- Squeeze out the murukku over a greased plate and drop gently in to the hot oil.
- Fry on both sides until the oil stops bubbling.
- Drain the excess of oil in a paper towel.
