Ingredients:

• 3 cups – cooked Rice
• 3-4 – tomatoes, chopped into small pieces
• 1/4 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1/4 tsp – Channa Dal
• 1 – Dried red chilli
• 1 tsp – Ginger- Garlic paste (optional)
• Salt
• Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala

Method:

  1. In a large pan, heat some oil.
  2. When the oil is hot, cook the cumin, mustard, urad dal, channa dal and red chilli until they start sputtering.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste, the chopped tomatoes, garam masala powder and turmeric powder.
  4. Cover and cook for about 3 minutes.
  5. Now add the cooked rice and some salt and mix it so that the tomato base coats the rice fully.
  6. The tomato mixture should not be too watery otherwise the rice will become soggy.
  7. If you have some cilantro, chop and add for extra taste.
