Ingredients:

• 1/4 kilo – tender Okra
• Oil to fry
• 1 cup – yogurt
• 1/2 cup – Butter milk
• 5 – Green chillies
• Seasoning Agents:
• 2 pinches – Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cut the okra into 3-4 mm thick slices. Chop the green chillies
  2. Beat the yogurt and butter milk, add salt to taste, along with chopped chillies.
  3. Heat 30 ml of oil in a kadai and add seasoning to it.
  4. When mustard seeds splutter, add okra and fry till they turn red
  5. Mix the turmeric and chilli powder into the fried okra
  6. Cool this for 5-7 mins
  7. Soak the okra in the beaten yogurt mixture for 15 mins
  8. Serve with chapattis.
