Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg – boneless mutton, cubed
• 6 tbsp – oil
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1/2 inch piece Cinnamon
• 1 bayleaf
• 3 green chillies, slit
• 6 tbsp – dates, chopped
• 6 tbsp- apricots, chopped
• 6 tbsp – sultanas
• 1 tsp – grated rind of Lime
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• Salt to taste
• chopped fresh coriander- for garnishing
Method:
- Puree the dates
- Heat oil in a kadai and fry the meat cubes until well browned.
- Set aside.
- Add remaining oil, saute the onions for 5-7 mins.
- Add red chilli powder, cinnamon, bay leaf and lemon rind. Add fried meat. Add 1 cup water and salt to taste.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15 mins.
- Add another cup of water, cover and cook for another 20 mins.
- Add the pureed dates, apricots and sultanas. Mix well and add more water if required.
- Cover and cook on low heat until the meat is cooked.
- Garnish with green chillies and coriander.
