Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – moong dal
• 3 – Onion
• Turmeric – a pinch
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp – pepper
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• Ingredients For Seasoning:
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 tsp oil

Method:

  1. Wash and pressure cook the dal for 2 whistles or till very soft.
  2. Grind the pepper and cumin to a coarse powder.
  3. Finely chop the onions and keep it aside
  4. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds.
  5. Add chopped onions and saute well in a medium flame for about 10 mins.
  6. Add a pinch of salt, add pepper-cumin coarse powder and mix well
  7. After the onions are sauteed nicely, add cooked dal and mix well along with salt
  8. Add 1/2 cup of water and boil for another 5 mins
  9. Serve hot.
