Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup – long grain rice, washed and drained
• 4 to 5 cups – Milk
• 2 to 3 – Cardamom seeds, crushed
• 2 tbsp – almonds, blanched silvered
• 1 pinch – Saffron threads, soaked in little hot Milk
• 1 tbsp – skinned Pistachio nuts, chopped
• 1 tbsp – Raisins
• 2 to 3 tbsp – Sugar
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
Method:
- Put the rice, milk and cardamom in a pan.
- Bring it to a boil and simmer gently until the rice is soft and the grains start to break up.
- Add almonds, pistachio, saffron and raisins and simmer for 3-4 mins.
- Add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add ghee and keep stirring until cooked.
