Ingredients:

• Black gram dal – 1 cup
• Cabbage – 1 cup
• Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
• Green chillies – 5
• Salt to taste
• Oil – For deep frying.

Method:

  1. Soak the dal for 5 hours.
  2. Grind it to a coarse paste with salt and green chilli and add shredded cabbage and finely chopped coriander leaves into the dal paste.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying.
  4. Take a little paste at a time and spread it on a wet plastic sheet to make vada.
  5. Gently drop each vada into the hot oil and fry till golden brown
  6. Serve.
