Ingredients:
• raw Rice – 1 cup
• par boiled Rice – 1 cup
• black gram (urad) dal – ½ cup
• Fenugreek seeds – 1 tbsp
• curds – ½ cup
• Turmeric powder -½ tsp
• cooking soda – ½ tsp
• oil to cook dosas
• salt to taste
Method:
- Wash and soak both the rice and dal together for 2-3 hours.
- Soak fenugreek seeds in curd
- Grind the rice and dal with curd and fenugreek to a smooth batter.
- Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and keep covered overnight (consistency is like usual dosa batter).
- Next morning mix in the soda.
- Heat a dosa pan, and brush with little oil.
- Pour a ladle of batter and spread very lightly.
- (This dosa is thicker than usual dosa).
- Cover and cook till the underside is done.
- Turn over the dosa, cook briefly and remove.
- Serve hot with chutney and/or sambar.
