
Ingredients:
• 1 kg Potato
• 4 cups Maida
• 2 tsp chilli powder
• 2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 4 tbsps Butter
• Oil to deep fry
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Boil the potatoes and mash them well.
- Tie the Maida in a thin cloth and steam it for 15-20 minutes.
- Open the bundle and break the lump while hot with a ladle.
- When it is slightly cooled, powder it with your fingers and sift.
- Mix the sifted Maida with mashed potato.
- Add rest of the ingredients except the oil.
- Add enough water and make a soft but not sticky dough.
- Take small portions of the dough and flatten them into disc shapes.
- Fry the Chaklis, in medium heat until they turn golden brown and crisp.
