Ingredients:

• Rice – 2 cups
• Tomatoes- 3, chopped
• Green chillies- 6, chopped
• Onions- 3, chopped
• Mint – 3 big bunches
• Patta – 1/2 inch
• Cloves 2
• Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
• Peas – 100 g
• Water – 3.5 cups

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and drain the excess water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the rice slightly.
  3. Grind mint into a smooth paste.
  4. Heat oil In a pressure cooker and saute the onions and green chillies until the onions turn pink.
  5. Then add the peas, the tomatoes, the ground mint, patta, cloves, fennel seeds, salt and the required amount of water.
  6. When the water starts boiling, add the rice.
  7. Cook until the rice is tender.
  8. Serve hot with raita.
