Ingredients:
• 1 – Cucumber
• 1/2 – coconut, grated
• 1 cup – gram dal
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 7-8 – Red Chillies
• Tamarind
• 1 tsp – Jaggery
• Coriander
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1 tsp – mustard
• Curry leaves
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Peel the cucumber and cut it into small pieces.
- Heat 1 tsp of oil in a kadai and fry the gram dal, cumin seeds and the chillies till brown in colour.
- Now add the coconut, salt, tamarind, jaggery and mix with the fried spices. Grind into a slightly coarse paste.
- Finally, add the chopped cucumber and coriander, grind coarsely.
- Heat 1 tsp oil and splutter curry leaves and mustard. Add this to the chutney.
