
Ingredients:
• Yam- 2 big pieces
• Raw banana – 2
• Pepper – 8-9
• Salt to taste
• Coconut (grated) – 2 cups
• Tamarind – 1 (small ball)
• Rice powder – 1 tbsp
• 1/2 tsp each – Mustard Seeds and Urad Dal
• Some Curry leaves
Method:
- Pressure-cook the yams and raw bananas in salt water.
- Make a solution of tamarind water.
- Drain off the excess water from the pressure-cooked vegetables and add them to the tamarind solution.
- Grind the pepper, rice powder and coconut with a little salt and keep the paste aside.
- When the vegetables start boiling, add the paste.
- When it has boiled for 20 minutes, turn off the flame.
- For garnishing, heat a little coconut oil. Add the mustard seeds.
- When the seeds splutter, add urad dal and the curry leaves.
- Add the garnish to the mixture.
- Serve hot with rice.
