Ingredients:
• Raw Rice – 2 cups
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Oil – 1/4 cup
• Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Bengal Gram – 3/4 tbsp
• Urad Dal – 3/4 tsp
• Curry leaves – a few
• Dried red chilli – 6-8
• Lemon – 1
• Salt to taste.
Method:
- Cook the rice in a bowl until tender.
- Add salt to it and let it cool.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork to separate the grains.
- In a small bowl, add turmeric, salt, lemon juice, a little asafetida and mix well.
- Pour this on the rice and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai and splutter the mustard seeds.
- Then add the bengal gram and urad dal.
- Fry till golden brown.
- Add the curry leaves and red chillies.
- Stir well.
- Pour this over the rice.
- Mix well and serve hot.
