Ingredients:

• 1 kg – chicken, cut into medium-sized pieces
• 2 – onions, sliced finely
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp – spice powder or Garam Masala powder

Method:

  1. Wash the chicken and marinate with the salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and spice powder for about 10 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, heat oil in a pan and saute the onions golden brown.
  3. Toss in the marinated chicken pieces and mix well.
  4. Close the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes until the chicken is cooked.
  5. Add a tsp of ghee or butter and fry until all the gravy dries up and the chicken is dry.
  6. Serve with bread or pepper water and rice.
