Ingredients:
• 500 g – soft, dried Dates (khajoor)
• 200 g – soft, dried Figs
• 1 tin – condensed Milk
• 100 g – almonds, halved
• 100 g – cashews, halved
• 50 g – green pistachios, halved
• 10 g – Cardamom powder
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• Edible silver foil (optional)
Method:
- Break or chop dates and figs coarsely.
- In a heavy-bottomed cooking pan, add condensed milk and cook on medium low flame.
- Stir continuously till the mixture becomes thick.
- Add dry fruits, and cardamom and mix well.
- Remove from the stove, stir for a minute.
- Grease a shallow tray and transfer the mixture to it. Pat it flat to get a thickness of about 2-cm.
- Cool till slightly warm.
- Apply ghee over it.
- Apply silver foil gently, pressing down with a wad of cotton wool or soft cloth.
- Mark sections neatly, cutting 1-inchx1-inch pieces.
- Allow to cool to room temperature.
- Pack into layers, interspersed with greaseproof paper.
